We depart from Funchal towards Santa da Cruz to visit the village centre. We will follow to Porto da Cruz, where a visit to the historic “Companhia dos Engenhos do Norte” is included (a local rum production company), which will allow to learn a living story of a glorious past of sugar production in the island and travel back to early 20th century. We now go to Santana, where we visit the typical culm ceiling houses known as “Casinhas de Santana” (Santana’s houses) and through an alternative route we will reach São Jorge where we can enjoy its natural beauty while passing by Boca das Voltas viewpoint with a breathtaking view. From here we will departure towards Arco de São Jorge where we shall have a lunch break. After lunch we continue our tour through the north coast, driving in regional roads where the views over the ocean are truly a sight to behold for many. Passing Boaventura, Ponta Delgada and São Vicente, places where we will stop for a small visit, by the end of the afternoon we will return to Funchal, passing through Ribeira Brava.
